Councillor praises recycling teams for their work despite lockdown

A Conwy County Councillor has taken to social media to praise the selfless work of the authority's recycling teams.

The Llanrwst Councillor said that the frontline council workers are "keeping homes and lives tidy" during the coronavirus crisis.

At the start of the week, Conwy Council announced that their home recycling and refuse collection service is to remain unchanged.

Cllr Aaron Wynne said;

"Despite the lockdown, Conwy's hardworking refuse and recycling teams are out collecting our household waste.

"Thank you for your selfless work keeping our homes and lives tidy during these times.

"To keep our refuse and recycling collections going, we need your help in protecting our staff.

"If your household is self-isolating because someone has viral symptoms, please do not put your recycling out for collection for 14 days. After 14 days, if no one has symptoms, you can put out your recycling and Conwy will take any extra that doesn’t fit in your trolibocs.

"Don’t forget to wash your hands before you put out your bin and recycling containers, and again as soon as you bring them back in."
